Meeting the boss

Posted on Mon Mar 25th, 2019 @ 8:28pm by Lieutenant Commander M'ell & Commander Jhamal P'Trell

Mission: S1E1: Onboarding
Location: USS Vanguard- Ready Room
Timeline: MD01 1530h

M'ell had taken his time going to his new home. He had had lunch on station with an old friend that was being sent to SB 332. They had worked together for a long time and it would be strange not having him around. M'ell made his way onto his new ship. It was a bigger ship then he was used to. In his mind, he started to think about all the extra power couplings that ran through it.

As he exited the turbolift onto the bridge he looked around and made note of its layout. The Duty Officer turned to him. "If your looking for Commander P'Trell she is in the ready room," He said as he pointed to the door. M'ell made his way over and pressed the door chime.

She sighed wondering when she would get any work done, "Enter." She said as she stood up to see another Caitian this time in red and Lieutenant Commander. "You must be Commander M'ell, my right-hand man." She said with a smile extending her hand towards him.

"I am Maam." He said as he took the extended hand. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I look forward to our time together."

"Indeed Commander, I have read good things on your record and I am impressed," Jhamal stated as she looked at the Caitian male in front of her. "Please have a seat," Jhamal offered as she took a seat of her own.

"Thank you." He said as he sat across the table from the new boss. "Very impressive ship should make for some fun adventures."

"Indeed she is," Jhamal said with a smile. "She sure is the state of the art," she added as she looked at him. "So, tell me about yourself, Commander." She said as she wanted to get to know her right-hand man.

"Well short version is I was born to a Diplomat and a Spook." He said with a grin. "You could say I was pushed into the Fleet life, but I was ok with that. I excelled in my first posting as a Comms Officer. And over many years I worked my way up the Operations chain to where I am today." He said with a smile.

"Sounds like a very fun time," Jhamal said as she looked at him. "Do you have any questions for me?" She asked looking at him.

"Have you received any idea what our role in the Task Force will be?" M'ell plainly asked.

"Not exactly," she said as she looked at him. "I know that our area of operations are but not what our role will be." She added with a sigh, "maybe I'll find that out soon enough." She said looking at him.

"I was just curious if you had gotten any early word. Either way, I look forward to whatever they put us on." M'ell said with a smile. "Anything you need me to concentrate on before launch?"

"Just make sure the ship is ready to go, she's been in mothballs for a while from what I hear so she might need some fine tuning, though I am sure our lustrous Chief Engineering Officer and her crew can get it done but would like you to oversee the repairs." She said as she looked at him with a smile.

M'ell made a mental note. "I will see to it." He smiled back.

She nodded, "Well I don't have anything else. Do you have any questions?" She asked looking at him.

"No I do not. Just excited to get started." M'ell said as he rose to leave.

She smiled, "again welcome aboard the USS Vanguard, your dismissed." She said with
